What if I told you that there is a very 'fun' way of working? You would probably say, No way! How about doing those ab exercises with a ball? Most people generally associate balls with either something the kids play with or some other sports. Until recently, most gyms didn't have balls as this was not considered something that could be used by someone trying to develop their abs muscles.
I'm here to tell you that you can enjoy yourself while working out when you use a ball, you can sit on it, lie on it or whatever. Most people don't like using the ball but it can be a very effective way of working and developing your muscles. By using a ball, you will actually be working a number of different muscles all at the same time. And that really means, you get to see the results a lot faster than if you simply did normal exercises.
The ball can be used in a number of different ways depending on how comfortable you feel using the ball and what group of muscles you actually want to develop.
Below are a couple of the exercises that you can do using the exercise ball.
Exercise 1 - Sit on the ball with your legs slightly apart. You then Stretch out your arms in front of you and touch the floor.
Remember to scrunch up your stomach whilst you do this. Return to the original position and repeat the process as many times as you like.
Exercise 2 - To work those obliques, the rectus abdominus muscles and the hip flexors. Lay flat on your stomach over the ball. Relaxing your body, touch the ground with your hands. Try and raise your upper body and hands by scrunching up your abdominal muscles. Hold this position for about 20 seconds then relax to your original position. Do this exercise for at least 10 repetitions, but no more that 14.
