Being a so called "Expert" is essential to be successful speaker, presenter, coach, author or marketer in today's demanding marketplace. At a recent event I attended with Christopher Howard, the audience was asked "who wants to be a presenter", I was amazed at how many people raised their hands to this question. It seems there are many people who have a message they want to convey, and I applaud them for that, and encourage them to pursue their destiny to convey that message. It is also my hope that they be rewarded suitably for their efforts, in order to be rewarded, financially or otherwise, I have gathered some strategies which I will share in a series of articles.
The top 3 Must Have Keys to success in any endeavour
1.Vision - The first is the vision to achieve a certain outcome, this is where you create the idea in your mind. Usually there is some form of inspiration behind this idea; to earn an income, to have fun, to make a difference in the world, or simply because it "seems like a good idea". I have seen many people (and have been caught myself) in taking on a very worthy project because I had the vision for the project, unfortunately this is not enough to succeed.
2.Alignment - Once you have had the vision you MUST then ensure it aligns with who you are and the goals you have for your life. We are all unique human beings with our own message and our own purpose in life. Unfortunately too many people get stuck in a social hypnosis of what they should do and wonder why they never achieve the results they want from their life. Or they have what seems like a good idea and pursue it for years with little or no tangible results. I have been guilty of this which is why I am so passionate about this topic. You must get in touch with who you are and what you want to achieve in your life first, then align every endeavour you take on with this. The only way to achieve true success it to follow your unique destiny, or as Chris Howard calls it "your souls purpose in life". If you are not aligned you will either struggle to achieve the vision or when you achieve the vision you will still feel unfulfilled. As Steven Covey put's it; "you climb the ladder of success only to find it is leaning on the wrong wall"
3.Commitment - Once you have a vision that is suitably aligned with your souls purpose in life, you must then commit and take 100% responsibility for achieving that vision. Nobody will wave a magic wand and make it happen for us (and if they do we wont be fulfilled because we wont have become the person we need to become), we need to commit to that vision, make it a goal, use our faith to believe that the vision will come to pass, be responsible for taking consistent action toward the goal and ensure we have the courage to overcome any obstacles that may be present on the journey.
Once you have the top 3 must have keys, there are then many things that will flow out of that. Things like:
The energy and persistance to achieve the goal - "The Fuel" Willingness to work on your mindset Mastery of your topic Resourcefullness to find solutions to osbtacles Ability to find the strategies to position, package and promote your products or services Ability to seek out how to create campaigns. Willingness to provide awesome value to your customers
These will all flow easily and your work will be a pleasure because you will be aligned with your passion and committed to do whatever it takes to succeed.
