For WEC's Charlie Valencia, fighting Miguel Torres was never really a question

BROOMFIELD, Colo. - WEC bantamweight Charlie Valencia is hardly a newcomer to mixed martial arts.

On the contrary, the Californian has been a staple of the West Coast fight scene since his professional debut in 2000. But the eight-time WEC veteran, who's also fought under the King of the Cage banner seven times, now finds himself in what is unquestionably the biggest fight of his career at Thursday's WEC 51 event.

Good, says Valencia. Bring on the challenge. That's what fighters are supposed to do.
