Analysts predict EA Sports to dump MMA franchise

Various gaming websites are today reporting that EA Sports will more than likely dump it's 'MMA' franchise following a poor sales performance after the release of the first EA Sports MMA game this past week.

IncGamers.com reported that EA Sports MMA made it's debut at number 23 in the gaming charts in the United States.

Doug Creutz, analyst at Cowen & Company, told investors: ?EA's recently released MMA appears to be more or less DOA (dead on arrival) at retail".

THQ has extended its licensing deal with the UFC brand, allowing it to continue using the name up until 2018 putting an end to any rumours that EA Sports may try to acquire the UFC license when the organisation's deal with THQ expired.
