Best SUVs of 2010 some good buys here

In the past few years auto manufacturers, have created some great 7 passenger SUVs; and 2010 is no exception. So, we have provided a brief overview of the best SUVs that seat 7 for the year 2010.

2010 Toyota Sequoia

With an eight passenger seating capacity, the 2010 Toyota Sequoia ranks at the top of the U.S. News and World Report rankings. It is a four door, large SUV with a strong capability to tow and a spacious third row seat.

With the recent allegations and issues that Toyota has had over the past few months, they are not advertising the Toyota Sequoia. However, most experts have verified that the Sequoia is a best-in-class SUV. Though the Sequoia does not drive like such, it is built based on the Toyota Tundra’s build and capabilities.

The only true area of weakness in the Sequoia is the fuel economy; the Sequoia gets 14 miles per gallon in the city and 19 on the highway. There are a host of safety and savvy technical features that make the Sequoia rise above the rest. In 2010, the Sequoia was reengineered with a better motor and standard Bluetooth, among more new features. The average price of a Sequoia runs between $38,000 and $50,000.

2010 Chevrolet Tahoe

According to the U.S. News and World Report rankings, the Chevy Tahoe is the second best SUV on the market. The Tahoe has been around for years, and it is always known for its seating and strong towing capacity.

The Tahoe is also a reliable SUV for off-road travel and usage. The Chevy Tahoe drives lighter than it appears, and there are plenty of compelling technical features to satisfy the entire family for a road trip. The Tahoe has a reasonable fuel economy at 15 miles per gallon in the city and 21 on the highway, but it uses much more gas when towing.

Though the Tahoe is lighter than most SUVs, you will have to give it more care in maneuvering and attention. The Tahoe was reengineered in 2007, and most of the changes for 2010 were minimal. The USB port is standard, so you can load your music files to the SUV. The average price of a Tahoe runs between $37,000 and $53,000.

Chevrolet Suburban

U.S. News and World Report Automotive ranked the Chevy Suburban as the third best SUV on the market. The Suburban is excellent for travelling with a crowd and luggage. If you need to tow a strong load, the Suburban is another wise choice. The Suburban is more than just your traditional full size SUV.

Built similarly to a truck, the Tahoe has strong towing capabilities and a truck-like fuel economy. With features such as tri-zone climate control, and a USB port that plays music and charges smaller electronics, the interior of the Suburban can be optimized to match that of some of the luxury SUVs on the market. All of the Suburban’s features and capabilities come at a high price for most consumers, the average price of a Suburban falls between $40,000 and $51,000.

GMC Yukon

With seating of up to nine passengers, the GMC Yukon is the fourth ranked SUV, according to the U.S News and World Report rankings. The Yukon is a high class performer, often mistaken for a luxury SUV. Though the Yukon cannot tow as much as some of its competitors, it has a strong towing capacity.

Many people overlook the Yukon because of its competitors at lower prices, but the GMC Yukon should not be overlooked. It can be easily classified with luxury SUVs, such as the Cadillac Escalade. The exterior contains has Denali trim, which is an upscale trim that surpasses any trim from the Yukon’s competitors.

It was reengineered in 2007, but now it comes with a standard USB port. The Yukon gets around 15 miles per gallon in the city and 21 on the highway. The back seat does not fold completely flat, but the Yukon’s sheer beauty and road performance are the marks that make it the fourth best. The luxurious Yukon’s average price falls between $37,000 and $58,000.

Ford Expedition

Competitive with the Chevy Tahoe and Suburban, the Ford Expedition ranks fifth in the U.S. News and World Report rankings. With the touch of a button, the Expedition’s second and third row seats fold flat in the floor of the vehicle. This makes for easy loading and a spacious interior, capable of holding nearly any item you might want to travel with.

Most of the SUVs on the market have bulky seats that require manual removal, which means more work for the buyer. Additionally, unlike most SUVs, the Expedition’s third row is spacious enough to fit adults comfortably.

However, the Expedition may be heavier to handle than most SUVs in its class. Overall, the Expedition offers comfort, reliability, and safety galore. The Ford Expedition does not have the best fuel economy at 14 miles per gallon in the city and 20 on the highway. However, the average price of an Expedition falls between $34,000 and $50,000, making it more competitive when cost is a consumer’s determining factor.

2010 Nissan Armada

Behind the Chevy Tahoe and GMC Yukon Hybrids, the Nissan Armada is the sixth best SUV on the market, according to the U.S. News and World Report rankings. The Armada has enough power and plenty of capabilities to satisfy the average consumer, but it cannot compete with the other SUVs in its class.

The Armada can hold up to eight passengers, and with its sporty exterior and roomy interior, the Armada can feel like a full-size luxury SUV. The Armada has the worst fuel economy of its class, giving only 12 miles per gallon in the city and 18 miles on highway. However, the Armada stays competitive with the average price falling between $35,000 and $50,000.

2010 Jeep Commander

According to U.S. News and World Report rankings, of the top seven SUVs in the market, the Jeep Commander ranks last. The Commander is excellent for off-road performance, but if most of your driving will be on pavement and asphalt, you will find better options.

While, the Commander has a roomy interior and excellent crash test scores, it is uncomfortable for nearly all passengers. The Commander makes up for what it lacks with the high tech entertainment system, and its low average price falling between $30,000 and $42,000.

Overall, if you are looking for a great 7 passenger suv, then the year 2010 has produced some great options.
