WEC Hometown race heats up; Phoenix, Milwaukee in the lead
In spring, the WEC announced a contest with Amp Energy to bring the fights to your hometown, and the deadline is soon approaching with Phoenix leading and Milwaukee in second place. WEC champs Ben Henderson and Dominick Cruz are both originally from Arizona and have been campaigning for Phoenix, while Duke Roufus' camp -- with WEC fighter Anthony Pettis -- has been pushing hard for Milwaukee. The WEC has been happy with the way the contest has turned out. “As the deadline approaches, it will be interesting to see which city gets a WEC event in December,” WEC GM Reed Harris said. “This is truly unique in that fans have all of the control. The fans in Phoenix have surged out of the gate and taken the lead. But with only a few days left, cities such as Milwaukee, Chicago, Atlanta, Nashville, Philadelphia, Sacramento and others aren’t going down without a fight.” Who would you rather see get it? The hot, unforgiving desert of Phoenix or Milwaukee, the land of beer and cheese? You can vote here. martial art mma fight
